We woke up at 4 A.M. sharp for our long awaited two-hour drive to Carrol County, MD. We met the Purple Gallinule in a small pond next to a soccer field. What are the odds of that? This bird happened to be a first of its species in Maryland, and a lifer for me. What a blessing!
