One thing I didn’t expect to hear about in the middle of November was a report of a Gray Kingbird being sighted in Lancaster County, but here we are. I made the trek down to Colerain County at about 6 in the morning. Once I got down I managed to lock my keys in the car though it was fully worth it as I watched this bird perch on the same powerline for 5 hours grabbing grasshoppers.

This bird should be hanging about in southern Florida and Northern South America but somehow found itself in the Pennsylvania farmlands. This bird would go down as the first sighting in Lancaster County and only the third in the State of Pennsylvania, the last sighting being 2004.
